Hedonism II turns 35!
The Hedonism II turns 35. In 1976 the Negril Beach Village opened its doors for guests in Negril. 6 years later, the hotel has changed its name to Hedonism II and the story of the legendary,
notoriously famous hotel in the world took its course.
The Hedonism II was the first hotel in Jamaica that allowed its guests to sunbathe, although naked sunbaths are prohibited even today on Jamaica.
In 1989, SuperClubs took over 50% of the hotel and take over the entire hotel 10 years later. A success story took its course, the Hedonism 2 (correctly written with the Roman II) is today one of the most successful hotels in Jamaica. No hotel in Jamaica has such a large number of returning guests as the Hedo 2 (as it is also called). Unbelievable but true, the Hedonism II still has guests, who already were guests in the Negril Beach in 1976.
Back in 1976 Negril Beach Village had printed the word "Hedonism" on its catalogs. This name certainly gave the impetus to rename the hotel in 1982 in Hedonism II and could therefore also explain why there is no Hedonism I. Hedonism (I) has already been used as a word in the brochures of Negril Beach Village. (Which is only a suggesstion from our side)
Hedonism 2 resort experiences from December 2016
The Hedo is unique. The most interesting is not the hotel itself, but its guests, mainly from USA and Canada. The food is clearly better and expressly praised, especially the barbeque evening with Lobster.
The service was very good and very friendly. Right on arrival you were made to make from the two separate (!) Beds a double bed without a ditch.
The common areas (lobby, toilets) have been well and modernly renovated, also the restaurant is now equipped with a comfortable seating. The spacious grounds are still a highlight, you have enough space on the beach in natural shade and can also look for a quiet corner if necessary. (So should be rebuilt times, then not denser than now)
But the rooms, there is not much to do in the building fabric and with the fixed, dated furniture. Despite working in the bathrooms. Of course there are balconies. (Demolition new building?) The prices are still growing. We will probably take a break.
